Das „Imurtot Tree nursery Project in kitenden region“ ist ein Vorhaben, das ökologische Nachhaltigkeit bewusst mit sozialen und kulturellen Zielen verbindet. Es geht also nicht nur um die Verbesserung der Umweltbedingungen, sondern darum, wie Menschen gemeinsam leben, lernen, arbeiten und Kultur gestalten – im Einklang mit der Natur.

Jackson: The involvement of my community is through participation training in big numbers where as the training will cover the following:

1. Potting seedlings
2. Nursery management/ mantainance and record keeping
3. Training on pest and disease affecting trees
4. Watering of trees

Also I will focus first with two women group whom I will used them to be in charge of the tree nursery on behalf of the community and the trees after nursing first the focus women group will be distributed among themself and plant them in their homestead and also they will donate others trees to the public places like schools , churches and make sure they will donate few trees in all community events attended to make the area green after some years.

On sustainability of the tree nursery, they will be yearly contributions of every member of the women focus group of ksh 500.

The women group will also sell some seedlings to individuals members of the community who wish to buy but in a reasonable price which anybody can afford, and this money will be used for maintenance and continuity of the tree nursery Project.

Budget breakdown:

1. Land cost is provided by the community
2. Fencing costs: 30 pieces of Poles@ ksh500 =ksh 15000, 9 pieces of chain links and nails @ ksh 6000= ksh 54000, Labourer Payment ksh 40000
3. Irrigation system costs, purchasing 10000 litres water tank ksh 118000, purchasing water pipes ksh 30000, sprinklers costs ksh15000
4. Nursery beds preparation costs ksh 450001. Land cost is provided by the community
5. Soil preparation costs ksh 43000
6. Purchasing of seeds costs ksh 55000
7. Nursery labour costs provided by the community
8. Purchasing tools and equipments costs ksh 35000
9. Water bills payment cost ksh 25000

Total 475’000 ksh = 2’900 CHF + transport cost

20.11.2025: Yesterday, I had a progressive meeting with the leaders of the nursery Project supported by AFA and we proposed our training session to begin on 25th November 2025 so in my side everything is on progress and my community were so much happy for this wonderful environmental project.

25.11.2025: I a have purchased all the materials and tomorrow I will transport them to the nursery Project. Also too, I have continued given the training on handling the trees starting from the nursery bed to the garden. And also trained them on different types of trees. So, on Thursday we will do seeds potting and make some pictures of people on work.
