Project update 26^th September 2026: Sayadaw U Vivekananda:

The first month of the winter retreat is almost over; most of the construction work—with the exception of the masonry—has been completed, and things have quieted down a bit.

Toward the end of the rainy season (the end of the third week of September), it usually rains heavily for several days. This is exactly what is happening right now. For this reason, master mason Ram Newas Yadav has temporarily suspended the masonry work. So far, he has plastered 22–24 of the total 88 columns on the interior. There are still 64–66 columns remaining.

Project update 22^nd August 2026: Sayadaw U Vivekananda:

There is good news to report regarding the raising of the monastery wall. Between July 24 and August 10, August 2026, the welders raised the steel in 88 pillars.

The masons will raise the last few meters today, and then a few pillars still need to be poured and plastered on the outside and inside. We are nearing the end of the project; see photos.
